Chapter 899 - 925: Irreplaceable (3)
"I love you," Louis Cox said in a low tone.
Mia Ginger still held the phone, pursing her lips without a sound.
Louis smiled, "I’ve always loved you, and I always will, forever unchanged. No matter if there’s another woman in my life or whether I get married, girl, you are irreplaceable in my heart, the only one."
"I’m not worthy," Mia said softly.
"You are worthy." Louis sighed, turned the conversation, and said, "For now, as Maeve has left, you can take it easy and get some rest."
"Okay." Mia hung up the phone.
She put away the phone, staring blankly at a nearby pink and white blossom tree.
Soon the wind picked up, making the petals fall.
As she watched, she recalled the days in Eastern Peak Village.
They had known each other for ten years, with Louis appearing in every corner of her life, tangled within past troubles that had a trace of warmth.
She had never been moved, keeping him at a distance.
How did this heartless, stone-hearted person fall for Koa Jackson in such a short time?
It felt like an instinct.
After waking from the car accident, it only took a single glance for her to fall in love.
What about before?
Suddenly, Mia missed Koa Jackson intensely again.
"Woof woof!" Chancellor’s barking suddenly startled her awake, Mia lowered her head to see Chancellor solemnly watching her, eyes gentle, comforting like family.
Mia reached out and rubbed its head, then got up to check on Bob Ginger in the room.
Bob had slept for a few hours, still not awake.
Mia sat by the bed, and suddenly heard him say, "Water."
Thirsty?
Mia sat at the bedhead, supporting his neck with one hand, carefully feeding him with a cup from the bedside.
After drinking some water, Bob woke up.
"Sis?" He saw Mia, as if in a dream, and called softly.
"How do you feel?" Mia put down the cup, sighed, "You’ve slept for several hours, are you hungry? Shall I ask the cook to make you some porridge? After drinking so much, is your stomach uncomfortable?"
Bob turned and hugged her waist, suddenly letting out a sob.
Mia patted his shoulder, gently coaxing, "Alright, alright, you’re a big boy now, and still crying."
"I went to find Brother Louis," Bob said muffled.
"I know, we were looking for you for a long time, he finally called me, and we then brought you back."
"Was Dad very angry?"
"No." Mia raised her hand to tousle his hair, "He was really worried about you, there’s been too much happening lately, everyone’s mood isn’t great, sorry for not attending to you."
"Don’t say that..."
Bob sat up in bed, but before speaking, he asked, "What happened to your foot?"
"Just twisted it, it’s nothing."
"You still came to find me."
"You’re my brother, if I don’t look for you, who will?" Mia glanced at him, thought for a moment, and whispered, "Your mom said I should take good care of you.
"My mom?" Bob looked at her incredulously.
Ron King and the others kidnapped Mia. He figured Charlotte Chester must have had some part in it.
He felt ashamed, unable to face Mia.
Earlier Mia said that Charlotte Chester died protecting her, but he knew that wasn’t true.
