Chapter 548 Tai Xuzi
"It seems it's not coming closer. Let's keep going." Su Yu said with a hint of fatigue in his voice.
They continued on their way, Chen Xiner's heart still beating fast, but she tried to stay calm. She knew that fear wouldn't solve anything in this dangerous forest. She held Lin Feng's hand tightly, as if it was her only support in this unknown world.
Lin Feng, Chen Xin'er, and Chen Yu, led by Su Yu and You Lan, had been trudging for half a day. Their clothes were soaked with sweat, which was then gradually dried by the breeze through the forest, leaving behind white streaks of sweat.
"This road feels like it has no end." Chen Yu couldn't help but complain, with a hint of fatigue in his voice. He raised his hand to wipe the sweat from his forehead, looking into the distance, trying to find the legendary Taixu Valley.
Chen Xiner breathed lightly and comforted, "Hold on a little longer, Su Yu said we're almost there." There was a hint of expectation in her eyes. She turned to look at Lin Feng, only to see that although Lin Feng's face was calm, his eyes also revealed a hint of curiosity about the unknown.
Su Yu and You Lan walked ahead. They were very familiar with this forest, and their steps were light and steady. You Lan looked back from time to time, smiling and encouraging everyone: "Everyone, keep going. Taixu Valley is just ahead." Her voice was clear and pleasant, like the chirping of birds in the forest, bringing a sense of comfort to the tired people.
Finally, the entrance to an ancient valley appeared before them. A single tall gate stood at the entrance, inscribed with the powerful characters "Taixu Valley." Illuminated by the sunlight, it exuded an air of simplicity and mystery. On either side of the gate were towering peaks, shrouded in mist and clouds, as if two giants were guarding this mysterious land.
"We're here. This is Taixu Valley." Su Yu said excitedly, with a proud smile on his face.
As soon as he finished speaking, several disciples in uniform walked out of the door. When they saw Su Yu and You Lan, they immediately showed respect and saluted, "Brother Su Yu, Sister You Lan, you are back."
Su Yu nodded slightly, searching among the crowd, and then asked: "Xiao Su, where is the master?"
At this moment, a girl, about sixteen or seventeen, stepped forward. She was Zi Su. Though petite, she exuded a lively aura, her large eyes sparkling with intelligence. Dressed in a light blue dress with a white ribbon tied around her waist, she looked fresh and refined. Her strength was not weak, and she exuded the aura of a third-rank warrior. Behind her, a warrior in his late twenties followed. He looked somewhat forlorn, and his strength was only second-rank, far inferior to Zi Su's.
Zi Su did not answer Su Yu's question immediately. Instead, she turned her gaze towards Lin Feng and the other two. A hint of curiosity flashed in her eyes as she asked, "Brother Su Yu, Sister You Lan, have you brought everyone with you?"
Su Yu glanced at Lin Feng, Chen Xiner and Chen Yu, then said, "This is the person Master is looking for. Take us to see Master quickly." There was a hint of urgency in his voice. After all, this mission was important, and he hoped to complete Master's instructions as soon as possible.
"Okay! Follow me." Zi Su responded crisply, turned around and led everyone inside.
After entering, a lush, verdant grove appeared before them. Each tree here was immensely tall, reaching into the sky, its trunks so thick that even four or five people holding hands couldn't wrap their arms around them. Sunlight filtered through the dense branches and leaves, casting patches of golden light on the ground. A gentle breeze rustled the leaves, whispering ancient stories.
"This tree is so big!" Chen Xiner couldn't help but exclaim, her eyes full of amazement and curiosity. She reached out to touch the rough trunk as she walked.
Lin Feng watched all this quietly. Although his amnesia had made everything around him unfamiliar, the mysterious woods still stirred a wave of shock in his heart. Puzzlement flickered in his eyes as he tried to find a clue about his past in this ancient forest.
After passing through the grove, the true Taixu Valley finally unfolded before them. Here, houses stood in dense rows, their roofs gleaming golden in the sunlight, a truly dazzling sight. Most were two-story buildings, built in a simple and elegant style, with flying eaves, brackets, carved beams, and painted buildings, exuding a rich ancient charm. Disciples occasionally walked the streets, carrying buckets of water or scrolls, their expressions hurried, yet an air of order permeated them.
"This is Taixu Valley. Isn't it spectacular?" Youlan asked with a smile, her eyes full of pride.
Everyone nodded, stunned by the sight before them. Chen Yu couldn't help but say, "I've only heard of the fame of Taixu Valley before, but I never thought it would be so spectacular."
The group walked along the street until they arrived at a magnificent attic. Its vermilion door was tightly closed, its copper ring gleaming in the sunlight. Zi Su walked forward and gently knocked on the doorknob. A moment later, the door slowly opened, and the group filed in.
Entering the attic, a massive tripod stood in the center. Its shape was simple and engraved with mysterious runes, emitting a heavy aura. Walking around the tripod, there was a spacious space filled with chairs. In the middle of the chairs, an old man sat quietly, his eyes closed. He was Taixuzi, the master of Taixu Valley.
Taixuzi wore a red Taoist robe embroidered with golden runes that shimmered in the sunlight. His hair and beard were gray, his skin shrunken and wrinkled, like an old man nearing the end of his life. Yet, he exuded an invisible aura that made one fear not to underestimate him. He rested his hands on his knees, his fingers slightly bent, as if sensing the spiritual energy of heaven and earth.
Lin Feng looked at the white-haired old man, and with just one glance, his body trembled uncontrollably. A chill ran up his spine, like a docile deer facing a ferocious prehistoric beast. The tremor, deep within his soul, came not from external pressure, but from his body's instinctive fear of an absolutely powerful being. Even though Taixuzi sat quietly, without emitting a single breath, Lin Feng felt as if he were being tightly bound by an invisible force.
"Master." A clear and respectful voice broke the brief silence. Zi Su, Su Yu and You Lan stood in a row neatly and bowed at the same time. Their movements were standard and smooth, and their eyes were full of respect and admiration for Taixuzi.
Taixuzi slowly opened his eyes. His eyes were as deep as the abyss, and his gaze, condensed by years, was like a substance. He swept over everyone one by one, finally landing on Su Yu. He asked in a low and powerful voice, "Have you brought the person?"
