Chapter 107 Fraudster
Chapter 107 Fraudster
Among the eight stars representing Chaos, the upper left represents Chaos, the upper right represents Slaanesh, the lower left represents Khorne, and the lower right represents the god of life and decay, the father of plague, and the evil god Nurgle.
So the first time Howard saw this hunchbacked masked man, he judged that he was most likely a Nurgle cultist.
With the appearance of this Chaos believer, many figures emerged from the fog one after another, slowly approaching Howard and Arabelle from three directions.
Arabelle couldn't tell the other party's identity, but she could tell that they had ill intentions. If she were facing these human-sized enemies normally, she would try to kill them directly, but she was now carrying Howard, who had lost his ability to move, so she could only take a long-term approach.
Arabelle began to back away slowly, but Howard put his hand on hers and shook his head gently at her, so Arabelle stopped.
The rest of the figures also gradually walked out of the thick fog. They were also covered with white cloth around their waists, but they did not have so many strange things stuck on their bodies, nor did they wear masks on their faces. However, on their foreheads, there was also an eight-pointed star representing Nurgle engraved.
They walked out of the fog, but did not continue to approach Howard and Arabelle. Instead, they formed a semicircle, surrounded Arabelle and Howard in the middle, and then stared at the two of them.
When everyone arrived, the masked Chaos follower slammed his cane against the ground and shouted, "Why?!"
His voice was hoarse and muddy, giving people the feeling that it was a dead dog that had been run over on the roadside and rotted for several days.
"Why?" Howard asked.
"Why do you refuse the gift?!" The masked Chaos believer slammed the ground hard with his crutch again.
Howard: "Speak human language, or I'll go back to the elevator and close the door."
"Why reject the gift from a loving father?!" The masked Chaos follower chose to continue being a riddler.
Howard: "Arabelle, let's go back to the elevator and ignore this psychopath."
Arabelle nodded in agreement and turned to leave with Howard in her arms, but then the voice of a Chaos believer came from behind: "This plague is a gift from the loving Father to mortals. Why do you want to destroy this great gift?"
Howard held Arabelle's hand again, and Arabelle understood, stopped walking, and turned back.
"Looks like you can talk properly!" Howard teased. Then he added, "You said this plague is a gift from a kind father? The so-called gift is to be infected and turn into that horrible appearance? Are you kidding me?"
"Of course, mortals cannot comprehend the greatness of the Father," said the Masked Chaos Cultist. "Death is the inevitable fate of mortals, but the Father's gift allows us to avoid death and gain eternal life amidst decay. Yet, those fools regard this as an ominous sign. How foolish and ignorant they are."
"Once, we were deceived and blinded by despicable lies. The Empire and the Corpse King imprisoned us in this iron prison, enslaving us wantonly. Then, in our moments of weakness, they discarded us like garbage. It was our loving Father who opened our eyes to the truth. The Empire and the Corpse King betrayed us. They imprisoned our bodies and minds. It was our loving Father who liberated us."
"Now, the power of the loving Father will overthrow this sinful world. The power of the loving Father gives us freedom. Now, we will fight for the loving Father! It is the loving Father who accepted us. The loving Father cares for each of us believers equally." At this point, the masked Chaos believer raised his hands and staff and said, "Praise the loving Father!"
All the other Chaos followers shouted in unison: "Praise the Father!"
Howard watched the group of people go crazy with an expressionless face. After they finished going crazy, Howard said, "What does that have to do with me? You don't want me to believe in some kind father, do you? Well, praise the kind father. Now can you please go away and let me be quiet?"
"No! That's not enough!" the masked Chaos follower continued, "The blasphemous food you created has disrupted the Father's plan. We should have showered you with the wrath of His Blessing, but the Father will tolerate and forgive all children who have strayed and returned to the right path. You need to atone for your sins."
"How do you atone for your sins?" Howard asked.
"Due to your obstruction, this world has been unable to enter the embrace of the loving Father. Those who stubbornly resist are still making a fearless struggle." The masked Chaos believer said: "You must destroy them to prove your loyalty to the loving Father."
"Are you kidding me?" Howard said, "Look, I almost became paralyzed after falling. You want me to destroy them? Even if there were only one of me, Char wouldn't be enough to fill his teeth."
"We don't need to destroy their bodies, what you need to do is destroy their spirits." The masked Chaos believer said again.
Howard: "Then how can I break their spirit?"
Masked Chaos Follower: "Because the blasphemous food you create can interfere with the gift of the loving father, those foolish people see you as hope. You don't need to fight the enemy yourself, just follow the leader. After seeing this scene, those fools will naturally give up the idea of resistance."
Howard argued with this lunatic for a long time and finally got something he wanted out of him.
"Leader?" Howard frowned.
"Great Leader, he was the first to realize that this plague was a gift from the Father. He understands and is closer to the Father than anyone else. He is the Father's favorite, and the Father even gave him extra rewards. Now he must lead us in spreading the Father's grace and carrying out the Father's will throughout Kalimdor and the entire planet of Nat." The masked Chaos Cultist said, "Now the Great Leader needs your help."
"What extra reward?" Howard asked again.
"The kind father gifted the great leader with power, making him stronger and faster. The kind father even allowed the great leader to command his messengers." said the masked Chaos believer.
Howard: "Okay, I get it. I'll come visit you when I recover. Please tell me the great leader's address."
"The Great Leader is in the bell tower of Jotun," the masked Chaos follower said. "We can take you to see him now. You don't have to worry about your injuries. The Great Leader will give you a new life."
"I refuse," Howard said.
Originally, the Masked Chaos Believers thought Howard had agreed to their request, but Howard suddenly changed his mind, so they were a little caught off guard.
"The gift you call the Father gave you superhuman vitality, power, and immortality, but unfortunately..." Howard, held in Arabelle's princess-like embrace, tapped his temple as he looked at these Chaos believers. "The gift from the Father took away your brains. I thought it would be more difficult to get any information out of you. I don't feel any sense of accomplishment at all."
Howard had said so. Even if these Chaos believers had more pus than brains under their heads, they should have realized they were being tricked. After a brief silence, someone suddenly shouted:
"Deceitful!"
Then all the Chaos followers shouted together: "Deceitful!"
"Burn the deceiver!"
