Chapter 237 Deeper Exploration into the Fog and Lurking Crisis

The deep rumble, like rolling thunder, grew louder as it approached, causing the ground beneath their feet to tremble even more violently. In the unfamiliar space illuminated by soft light, the initial relief of surviving the ordeal was instantly replaced by tension and vigilance.

Huanmo abruptly stood up, his heart pounding with the booming sound. "What is that sound? Has the Dark Vortex caught up with us again?" A hint of worry flashed in his eyes. Having just escaped a desperate situation, he really didn't want to fall into danger again so soon. But as the leader of the group, he had to remain calm and quickly observe the surrounding environment, trying to find the source of the sound.

Ling'er clung tightly to Huanmo's arm, her little face filled with terror. "Brother Huanmo, I'm so scared..." Her voice trembled with tears, and her body shook slightly. The series of crises had pushed this little girl's nerves to the limit.

Wanru gripped her weapon tightly, her eyes sharp as an eagle's, scanning her surroundings warily. "Whatever it is, we've been through so much already, there's nothing to be afraid of." Though her words were firm, a trace of worry crept into her heart, for this unfamiliar space was full of unknowns.

The woman in white gently touched her chest, trying to calm her rapid breathing. "Don't panic, maybe this is just some kind of natural phenomenon in this space." Although she said this, her eyes could not hide her nervousness, and her hands unconsciously clenched the hem of her clothes.

The roar grew louder and louder, as if a giant beast was charging towards them. Huanmo took a deep breath, suppressing his unease. "Let's go, let's go see." With that, he took the lead and walked towards the direction from which the sound came, his steps steady yet cautious.

The group followed closely behind, passing through a faintly glowing mist. As they drew closer, they discovered a massive stone gate ahead, its surface covered in strange patterns and its light flickering. The rumbling sound emanated from behind the gate, as if a powerful force was attempting to break free of its confinement.

Huanmo stared at the stone door, his mind filled with questions. "What's behind this stone door? Why is it making such a loud noise?" He reached out and gently touched the patterns on the stone door. A faint current traveled through his fingertips, making him shudder slightly.

Wanru stepped forward, carefully examining the stone door. "These patterns look like some kind of seal. Could there be something dangerous sealed behind the stone door?" Her guess made everyone's hearts tighten, and the atmosphere became even more tense.

The woman in white closed her eyes, attempting to use her spiritual sense to perceive the situation behind the stone door. After a while, she slowly opened her eyes, her face somewhat pale. "There's a powerful, chaotic aura behind the stone door, seemingly containing anger and resentment."

Just as everyone was discussing countermeasures, the light on the stone door suddenly intensified, and the strange patterns flickered even more violently. Then, the stone door slowly opened, and a powerful gust of air rushed out, carrying a pungent, fishy smell.

Huanmo and the others quickly retreated a few steps, ready for battle. When the air currents eased slightly, they saw that what appeared behind the stone gate was a gigantic demonic beast, its entire body covered in black scales, its eyes flashing with an eerie red light, its blood-red maw wide open, and it roared furiously.

"What...what kind of magical beast is this?" Ling'er cried out in terror, hiding behind Huanmo.

Huanmo's heart sank; he had never seen such a powerful magical beast. "Everyone be careful, this magical beast is incredibly strong, we can't fight it head-on," he said, quickly considering a countermeasure. However, the magical beast didn't seem to have much time to think; with a roar, it pounced on the group.

Wanru was the first to charge forward, her weapon gleaming coldly as she slashed at the monster's head. The monster, however, neither dodged nor evaded, using its hard scales to take the blow head-on, leaving only a shallow mark. Wanru felt a tremendous force rebound back, making her arm numb.

Seeing this, the woman in white swiftly cast a spell, beams of light shooting from her hands and striking the demonic beast's body. The beast, in pain, roared and turned to pounce on the woman in white. Huanmo seized the opportunity, leaping into the air and conjuring a spiritual sword in her hand, thrusting it towards the beast's back.

Sensing the attack from behind, the monster suddenly twisted its body. Huanmo's spirit sword only pierced the edge of its scales, failing to inflict fatal damage. Enraged, the monster swung its tail, sending Huanmo flying.

Ling'er was frantic. She opened the scroll, trying to find a way to help everyone. Suddenly, she discovered a passage about how to subdue this kind of magical beast. "Brother Huanmo, I know how to deal with it!" she shouted. "We need to attack the soft flesh below its eyes; that's its weak point!"

Despite his pain, Huanmo nodded. "Wanru, White-Clad Girl, let's listen to Ling'er and find an opportunity to attack its weakness!"

Summoning their courage once more, the group charged towards the monster. Wanru and Huanmo drew its attention, constantly provoking it with attacks, causing it to turn back and forth. The woman in white seized the opportunity to unleash powerful magic, restraining the monster's movements.

Just as Ling'er saw the opportunity and was about to instruct everyone to attack its weakness, a sinister laugh suddenly echoed through the space. "You think you can defeat it easily? You're too naive..." As the voice rang out, the monster's body began to swell, and its already powerful aura became even more terrifying.

Where did that eerie voice come from? Why did the monster suddenly become stronger? Can Huanmo and the others find the monster's weakness and defeat it in this increasingly critical situation? Everything is shrouded in a deep fog, and the fear of the unknown once again envelops everyone...
