Chapter 896: No One Will Disturb Us
Chapter 896: No One Will Disturb Us
"Damian Knight..." Summer Monroe exclaimed in surprise and instinctively wrapped her arms around Damian Knight’s neck.
Damian took the opportunity to press his lips to her ear and said in a husky voice, "No one will disturb us now."
He had purposefully put his phone on silent as soon as he got out of the car.
This way, nothing could interrupt him and Summer from their "important business."
Summer bit her lip but said nothing, simply resting her face quietly on his shoulder.
Last time she wasn’t completely ready, but this time she was fully prepared to give herself completely to Damian Knight.
In just a few seconds, the two of them were on the large bed in the bedroom.
Damian almost completely abandoned his usual calm demeanor. After another passionate kiss, he impatiently reached out to caress Summer’s long legs.
Then, his hand instinctively moved slowly upwards, all while he continued to kiss Summer passionately...
But two seconds later, Damian’s hand suddenly stopped, and his whole body tensed up.
Summer, lost in the kiss, suddenly felt Damian become completely rigid.
She looked at Damian in confusion and asked, "What’s wrong?"
Only to see Damian slowly lift his right hand, which had some light red blood stains on it.
Summer froze for a moment before realizing—
She had gotten her period.
Neither early nor late, right on this day...
Summer’s face, already red, turned even redder.
Damian looked at her and chuckled bitterly, saying, "I thought nothing would bother us now, but I didn’t expect this..."
"I’m sorry..." Not knowing what to say, Summer apologized, seeing Damian’s face full of discomfort.
Damian affectionately pinched her earlobe with his clean hand, saying, "Silly girl, there’s nothing to apologize for. You’ll be mine sooner or later."
Summer’s face heated up, just as Damian moved his hand to her lower abdomen.
"Does it hurt?"
Summer shook her head and then nodded, saying, "Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn’t. This time I don’t feel much."
If she had felt it, she wouldn’t have needed Damian to remind her that her period had arrived.
Damian pinched her cheek again, saying, "Alright, go change clothes. You can’t touch cold water these days. I’ll shower in the downstairs bathroom."
Saying this, Damian gently kissed her forehead before turning and leaving.
Summer was left alone in the bedroom, feeling like she had never been so embarrassed in her life.
Was she the first girl in history to be caught by a guy during such an act when her period started?
Thinking of Damian’s blood-stained hand—
"Ugh..."
Summer groaned, collapsing as she covered her face with a pillow. Afraid the blood would stain the sheets, she quickly got up to clean herself.
Downstairs, Damian wasn’t in much better shape.
He was in a state of urgency, so he had no choice but to relieve himself in the bathroom.
...
Upstairs.
Feeling embarrassed, Summer stayed in the bathroom for a long time before coming out.
When she finally convinced herself to change clothes and go downstairs, she didn’t find Damian in the downstairs bathroom.
Where had he gone?
Was he angry?
As Summer was worrying, she heard clinking sounds coming from the kitchen.
"Damian Knight?"
She walked in, puzzled, just as Damian came out with a bowl of deep red liquid, with two soft-boiled eggs floating inside.
It was obviously ginger tea made for her.
Seeing her, Damian smiled and said, "Not sure if I put too much ginger. If it’s too spicy, I’ll make another bowl for you."
Summer felt warmth fill her heart, took the bowl, blew on it a few times, and then drank it down.
It was indeed spicy...
But also heartwarming.
As she put down the bowl, about to thank him, Damian seemed to anticipate her, saying first, "I’ve told you many times, I don’t accept the words ’thank you’. Say something else."
Summer pressed her lips together and said, "Damian Knight, you’re really good."
Damian looked satisfied and said, "Remember to calculate the days correctly next time. I’ve looked into it; drinking this in advance will have better effects."
Summer nodded, glancing at Damian, and asked, "Were you angry today?"
Damian, not hiding his feelings, frankly admitted, "Yes, having dinner with someone else is one thing, but you specifically told me not to come over."
"It’s just I was afraid you’d scare her..."
"I’m not some kind of monster," Damian muttered, feeling a bit wronged.
"I’m sorry, it won’t happen again. I’ll tell Holly that you’re actually easy to get along with."
Damian lifted his chin slightly and said, "I’m not someone who can be coaxed with just a few compliments."
Summer tilted her head and asked, "Then how can I coax you?"
Damian gave her a deep look and said meaningfully, "Once your period is over, you’ll be able to coax me just fine."
"...You." Summer choked, letting out a humph, and said, "I want to sleep by myself tonight."
"No way, then you won’t be able to coax me after your period is over."
"Damian Knight, I never realized you’re this hard to please and thick-skinned."
"Take it as a compliment."
They continued to chat and laugh back and forth, doing nothing in particular yet deeply affectionate.
Truly in love, even just sitting together in silence can bring contentment.
...
Elsewhere, Willow Grant was waiting for her parents to pick her up after her exam. However, the Grant family’s flight was delayed, leaving her to return to her rented apartment alone.
The apartment was quiet, and Willow checked her phone.
Except for a flight delay message from Mrs. Grant, there were no other messages.
She calculated, ever since she left Knight Manor, Susan Stone hadn’t contacted her.
Busy, or had she given up on her?
Willow bit her lip in frustration.
She couldn’t afford to lose her connection with Susan Stone, or she truly wouldn’t be able to marry into the Knight Family.
With this in mind, Willow quickly picked up her phone and sent Susan a message.
"Mrs. Stone, school exams are over, I’m free this weekend. How about I come visit you? What desserts do you like? I’ll bring some for you."
She added a playful emoji at the end.
Knight Manor.
Susan Stone was playing mahjong with a few society ladies when her phone pinged twice.
She checked her phone, her previously happy mood becoming a bit more complicated.
She was quite satisfied with Willow Grant’s good upbringing, manners, and academics, believing she could greatly help Damian Knight’s career someday.
However, her son wasn’t interested in Willow at all, being instead hopelessly devoted to a girl with a complicated background like Summer Monroe.
"Ah..."
Susan couldn’t help but sigh.
Forget it, she decided to keep her promise to Summer and give her time to prove her worth.
One of the ladies across from her spoke up, "Susan, what are you doing? Are you taking the Red Dragon or not?"
Susan snapped back to reality, ignoring Willow’s message, and pushed her three Red Dragons forward, "Kong."
The next second, she drew a tile from the kong and gleefully slapped the table, "Kong flower bloom, I win!"
The joy of winning at mahjong made Susan forget to reply to Willow’s message completely.
