Chapter 217: Rare Orc Exclusive Mounts
Chapter 217: Rare Orc Exclusive Mounts
Logan, Rasta, and Khan’s bodies shuddered when the ripple of power from Leone passed through their bodies.
When they sensed those changes, they couldn’t help but feel shocked. It seemed that they had gotten a little stronger after that wave of power hit them.
They had wanted to ask about it, but Leone was too busy checking the changes in his Status Page to pay attention to the solemn gazes the three Orcs were giving him.
If not for Daedalus lightly tapping Leone’s head, reminding him that he was still with the Orcs, the young man might have already asked the grimoire about the "Guardian" that could be assigned to the Aslan Tribe.
"You’re aware, aren’t you? It’s not only the three of you, but your entire tribe. All of you have reaped great benefits through the blood pact that you initiated," Daedalus said, taking command of the situation while its Master had yet to calm down.
"However, for now, please keep this a secret from everyone. Including my existence, of course. Only those whom Leone and the Aslan Tribe fully trust are qualified to know some of our secrets, after all."
Logan, Rasta, and Khan nodded in understanding. Since Leone had trusted them enough to share some of his secrets with them, they would definitely keep their lips sealed.
"Earlier, I saw some words appear in front of me," Logan stated. "Are you responsible for those?"
"Yes and no," Daedalus replied. "It is indeed through me that you saw those words, but whatever it says is beyond my control. I am simply a medium through which that power manifests in this world. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. I’ll answer what I can."
"What else can you do?" Logan asked.
"I can do many things," Daedalus replied. "Though some of them are not possible right now. Anyway, my main job is to document Leone’s journey in becoming a Hero King."
"A Hero King? Not a Monster Sovereign?" Rasta inquired.
"A Hero King," Daedalus stated once more. "Only Leone will get to decide what kind of sovereign he will become. You could say that I am only here for the ride."
"Then, this strength we’ve gained, is it because of the Blood Pact?" Khan inquired.
"Yes," Daedalus answered. "And receiving this kind of boost is not necessarily a one-time thing. As long as you remain allies with the Aslan Tribe, the chances of the same phenomenon happening in the future are nearly guaranteed."
Logan subconsciously clenched his fists at those words. As someone who clawed himself up to his current position, he understood how hard it was to become stronger.
But after witnessing this power firsthand, he internally praised himself for deciding to propose a blood pact between him and Leone.
"Oh, before I forget, there is something I need to tell you guys," Leone said after remembering the Orc Exclusive Rare Mount Tickets that he gained as a reward. "Have you noticed that the Aslan Tribe has Raptors as mounts? Now that we are allies, you are also free to choose what kind of mount you wish to have."
"Mounts?" Logan frowned. "What do you mean when you say we’re free to choose what kind of mounts we wish to have?"
"Allow me to explain," Daedalus interjected as it opened its pages. It then showed several Rare Mounts exclusive to Orcs.
When Khan saw a bigger and meaner version of Porkchop, he immediately pointed at it with excitement.
"This!" Khan pointed. "I want this boar!"
"Ah... you wish to have the stronger version of the Great Pudge, which is the Grand Pudge." Daedalus nodded in understanding. "Very well. Leone, if you’d please."
"Okay." Leone smiled and summoned one of the Rare Mount Tickets he gained as a reward. He then exchanged it for the Grand Pudge, which immediately materialized in front of the Orc Warlord.
The Grand Pudge was three-meters tall, sporting tusks that looked extremely threatening.
Porkchop, who happened to be there as well, approached the Grand Pudge that was at least twice its size, and looked up at it with sparkling eyes.
"Uncle?" Porkchop asked in its own language.
In response, the Grand Pudge looked down at the Great Pudge before lightly nudging the top of Porkchop’s head with its cheek.
This show of affection from the meaner-looking black boar made Khan smile from ear to ear.
Leone decided to give Khan a freebie and bought a simple monster saddle that would fit the Grand Pudge, allowing the Orc Warlord to ride it.
Seeing Khan look so happy, Rasta started browsing the projections Daedalus was still showing them.
"I want this," Rasta said after some time, pointing at a Dread Condor. Unlike other Orcs, who liked moving on land, the Orc Shaman preferred flying in the sky.
"Understood." Leone nodded. "But let’s not summon it here. This place might not be the best for summoning a flying mount."
Rasta agreed, but the excitement on his face was still evident.
"How about you, Logan?" Leone asked. "Did you see something that interests you?"
"This one." Logan pointed at the Dire Warg. "I want it."
The Dire Warg looked like a bigger, more ferocious gray wolf. Similar to the Grand Pudge, it stood three meters tall, which could easily carry Orcs around.
"Understood." Leone smiled faintly. "So, shall we make the Dire Warg the official mount of the Ravage Tribe? Of course, if the Orc Shamans and Orc Mages wish to have the Dread Condor like Rasta, we can do that too. If they want other mounts instead, they can choose as well.
"But do remember that you can only choose two hundred of them. That is the most we can procure for the Ravage Tribe. At least, at the moment. Also, since not everyone can have them, how about you make these mounts rewards for Orcs who made great contributions to your tribe? That way, they will feel special because they are rewarded for their hard work."
"That’s actually a very good idea." Rasta nodded. "Sure. We will implement this reward system. This will also serve as motivation for our people."
Logan also agreed with this reward system that Leone had recommended. Orcs were hard workers to begin with. If they got rewarded for it, they would definitely work harder to gain their own mounts.
"I’ll head back to our nest first." Khan was very excited to show off his mount to everyone, so he exited the cave with the Grand Pudge.
Logan looked calm on the surface, but he was also excited to try out his new mount. Of course, the same could be said for Rasta.
They then headed out of the cave, and Leone summoned their mounts there. Just like what he did for Khan, he bought saddles for both Logan and Rasta’s mounts, allowing them to use their mounts right away.
A moment later, a Dire Warg sprinted down the mountain, while a Dread Condor took off into the skies.
The warriors of the Aslan Tribe and the Ravage Tribe that saw them were all surprised. They had never seen these three creatures before.
However, the Aslan Tribe already had an idea of what had happened. Something similar had already happened to them, so they weren’t as clueless.
Now that the Orcs were gone, Leone asked Daedalus about the other important matter.
"Daedalus, tell me more about this ’Guardian Assignment’," Leone said. "I think this is no simple matter."
"You’re right," Daedalus replied. "It’s not a simple matter."
Since this was an important discussion, Leone returned to his house, while the rest of his vassals returned to their duties of monitoring their guests.
High above the peak of Grimjaw Mountain, Astravor narrowed its eyes before casually picking up a rock.
It then threw it down the mountain with a mischievous look on its face.
A few seconds later, Boris’ angry roars spread across the surroundings.
Clearly, the Gryphon was once again teasing the Raptor Sovereign, who kept on challenging it to determine who between them would become the true Lord of Grimjaw Mountain.
