Chapter 412 Morning Interaction
Chapter 412 Morning Interaction
Lu Wensheng's sweet dream was disturbed by the singing and nod coming from far away in the courtyard. He struggled half out of the quilt in a daze. His black hair was scattered on his shoulders like crow feathers. A few strands of hair were curled into small curls on his forehead, which made his usually elegant face look more worldly.
Liu Jiqian beside him had already woken up and was staring at him intently with his chin propped up. The morning light was reflected in his golden-red eyes, like amber soaked in honey - he could never get enough of looking at him.
Seeing Lu Wensheng sitting up, his fingertips felt slightly itchy and he really wanted to reach out and pinch the other person's lazy face, but he was afraid of angering him, so he had to settle for the next best thing and gently held Lu Wensheng's hand and rubbed it in his palm.
The movements were so gentle as if one was afraid of breaking some treasure; even the fingertips trembled with caution.
Lu Wensheng rubbed his eyes and sat up, his fingertips still numb from not waking up yet, and suddenly he felt warmth in his palms - Liu Jiqian had been lying on his side beside him without him knowing, his silver-gray hair falling on the pillow, his golden-red eyes staring at him without blinking, fragments of the morning light reflected in his eyes.
Seeing him wake up, Liu Jiqian let out a very light laugh from his throat, and his fingertips rubbed his palm with slightly trembling hands. Finally, he curled up his index finger and carefully poked his red earlobe, but when Lu Wensheng tilted his head to look at him, he quickly retracted his hand like a frightened bird, but the tip of his ear turned crimson at a speed visible to the naked eye.
"What's that sound..." Lu Wensheng's voice was still hoarse from just waking up, his brows were slightly furrowed, revealing a bit of impatience.
Liu Jiqian raised the corners of his lips slightly, and rubbed his knuckles over the light red marks on Lu Wensheng's wrist that were left by the silk yesterday. His tone was filled with a bit of pride that could not be concealed, mixed with a little bit of subtle nervousness: "The imperial decree from my father to grant marriage has arrived."
As he spoke, he tilted his head to look out the window, only to see floating dust dancing in the sunlight. Several eunuchs in palace costumes were carrying gilded lacquer boxes through the moon-shaped door. The bright yellow satin covering the boxes shone luxuriously in the sunlight, and faintly one could hear the sound of porcelain colliding inside.
“A marriage granted?!” Lu Wensheng suddenly woke up and stared at Liu Jiqian with wide eyes. His black hair became even more messy due to the large amplitude of his movements. “When did you—”
How come, has the wedding developed to the point where the person doesn’t need to be notified to attend?
Liu Jiqian wrapped a strand of Lu Wensheng's hair around his fingertips and twisted it in a circle. The corners of his eyes were red but he pretended to be calm.
"Father has always loved me, so naturally he will fulfill my wish."
He paused, then suddenly moved closer, his nose almost touching Lu Wensheng's: "Anyway, you have already entered my princess's mansion, and the rice has been cooked. This marriage..."
A sly smile appeared on his lips, "You have no choice but to get married."
Lu Wensheng felt his temples throbbing. He reached out and scratched his frizzy hair, thinking of the ridiculous incident of being robbed yesterday. He looked at the busy marriage-granting team outside the window and suddenly felt absurd and wanted to cry but had no tears.
He glared at Liu Jiqian unhappily, but when he met the almost paranoid expectation in the other's eyes, the anger in his heart inexplicably dissipated a little.
"I'm going to get up."
Lu Wensheng supported himself with his arms and sat up. The quilt slid down his shoulders, revealing a thin collarbone. He rubbed the scattered hair on his forehead and glanced at Liu Jiqian who was sitting upright beside the bed. He saw that the tips of his ears were so red that they were about to bleed.
He found it interesting and shook his held wrist. The quilt slid down to his waist along with his movement, causing Liu Jiqian's Adam's apple to roll violently and the tips of his ears to instantly turn red.
The man turned his face away hastily, his silver-gray hair brushing against the carved bedposts, but when he stood up, the curtain hooks shook slightly, and the red silk curtains spread out like ripples, just covering his hot cheeks.
Liu Jiqian reached out to take the robe he had placed on the back of the chair, but when his fingertips touched the fabric, he suddenly stopped. The blush on the tip of his ear spread along his neck to his collarbone. His voice was as light as a feather falling on the bluestone slab: "I, I will help you get dressed."
Lu Wensheng raised his eyebrows: "No need."
He reached out to grab the jade belt on the bedside, but Liu Jiqian grabbed his wrist first.
The other person's palm had thin calluses, but was unusually warm. His fingertips gently rolled over the light red marks on his wrist that were left by the silk yesterday, as if he was soothing a furry cat.
"It's my duty," Liu Jiqian lowered his eyes and stared at his folded fingertips, his Adam's apple rolling slightly.
"After we get married, we are husband and wife...it's my duty to dress my husband."
The last two words were almost squeezed out from between teeth, the ending tone trembled barely perceptibly, yet revealed a bit of desperate stubbornness.
"Husband?" Lu Wensheng suddenly perked up, his sleepiness instantly dissipated, and a mischievous smile appeared on the corner of his mouth - hehehe, husband, right?! Alas, he was no longer sleepy when talking about this!
He tilted his head and stared at Liu Jiqian's suddenly tense shoulders, deliberately dragging out the ending tone: "This name is quite fresh~"
Liu Jiqian looked up suddenly, his golden-red eyes reflecting fragments of the morning light, like spring water swaying in molten gold and broken amber.
He opened his mouth, but no sound came out. His fingertips unconsciously clenched the hem of his shirt, wrinkling the delicate cloud pattern out of shape.
Seeing this, Lu Wensheng's desire to play a trick on someone became stronger.
He suddenly leaned forward, and when Liu Jiqian was caught off guard, he gently pecked the corner of his lips.
There were still light red marks left by his bite yesterday. It was soft to the touch but had a hint of saltiness, mixed with the crisp scent of pine, making one want to explore deeper.
Liu Jiqian's whole body suddenly stiffened, his pupils suddenly shrank into a needle-like slit, the blush on the tip of his ear instantly spread to his cheekbones, and even his earlobes became transparent.
A muffled whimper escaped from his throat, and he took a half step back like a frightened deer, but accidentally knocked over the dressing box behind him.
With a "click", the gilded rouge box fell to the ground, and the cinnabar-colored powder sprinkled on the bluestone slab, like a winding bloodstain. Liu Jiqian bent down in panic to pick it up, but Lu Wensheng grabbed his wrist.
"I'm just kidding. I'll take care of it." Lu Wensheng chuckled and rubbed the other's burning earlobe with his fingertips. "Go and see what's going on outside. Don't let them tear down the house."
Liu Jiqian stood up hastily as if he had been pardoned, but was almost tripped by his clothes in his haste.
He rushed to the door as if escaping, and the end of his hair brushed across Lu Wensheng's knees, bringing a gust of fragrant wind. Before leaving the house, he turned back suddenly, his eyes showing both anger and a hint of shyness, like a cat whose tail was stepped on.
"I, I'll be back soon!"
There was a hint of embarrassment in Liu Jiqian's voice, and he slammed the door shut after he finished speaking, leaving Lu Wensheng alone, who was smiling slyly and rubbing his hands like a fly.
It was the first time he teased Liu Jiqian like this, and Liu Jiqian's reaction was so funny! Lu Wensheng was very happy, feeling that he had gotten his revenge.
The system watched silently, screaming in its heart, recording the whole process: Lu Wensheng, you are getting better, and you are playing fun games - it's hard to guess, what is the price of being called husband? Lu, your blessing is still to come~
